One Health Hub India

A process of consultation has been initiated regarding an appropriate organisational structure for a One Health Hub in India to support inter-sectoral activities involving both the human and animal health sectors, working with government engagement on One Health initiatives.

Concepts for a One Health Hub in India include a network of people and organisations working in or engaged with the government sector who are actively engaged in One Health activities, to provide a resource for communication, consolidation of resources, and inter-sectoral collaboration on One Health initiatives.

Membership

Membership of the One Health Hub in India and the South Asia One Health Network, might include people working in national and state organisations within the government sector involved in surveillance and control of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases affecting humans and animals, and people in other national and international groups engaged with the government sector including non-governmental organisations, research institutes, universities and training institutes involved in One Health activities in India.

Regional collaboration

It is proposed that the One Health Hub in India would be connected to similar One Health Hubs throughout South Asia, as part of the regional South Asia One Health Network, which supports One Health communication, collaboration, professional networking, projects and training activities across the South Asia region.
